This movie is about Carandiru Massacre in 1992. Great and funny movie.
This prison could hold 4000 prisoners but at this time 7000 prisoner were imprisoned. Prison was an awful situation but prisoners were living their life with some freedom. They don't need to wear uniform in this prison. When you see this movie, you won' t know who is prisoner and who is staff. Also they can watch TV, sell and buy drugs, bring their girlfriend/wife and have sex in prison. Gay can get marrried in the prison too.
In the prison, for hacing sex without condom and using same syringes, HIV was spread out. As a HIV protection activity, the doctor Luiz Carlos Vasconcelos come to the prison and ask ' why you are improsoned here?' 
Here, this is my favourite scene, why he's been mental here? because he couldn't kill human.'It was normal to kill people, killed many many people but I couldn't kill him! Did I become mental?!? Oh my god, Please help me GOD!'
We often pray when we are in trouble but it's funny to pray because 'he couldn't kill anymore'
